Building ADP: ADP Fallers

We conducted 14 Superflex Devy Mocks since the beginning of February. Now is the perfect time to find out who has either risen or fallen over time. Today, I look at who’s fallen the most from the first seven mocks to the last seven mocks. I found 20 prospects who have fallen at least 10 spots.

G5: Incoming Freshman RBs

We’ve had several requests to cover more G5 prospects. This is part one of a four-part series on incoming G5 recruits. I’ll do some breakdowns on the top 20 recruits to sign at each offensive skill position. I’ll gauge how much value each prospect has for College Fantasy owners as well as Devy owners.

Under-The-Radar Incoming Freshman Tight Ends

Today, we’ll be taking a look at some under-the-radar incoming freshman tight ends. I’m more than likely not drafting a freshman tight end in a Devy draft, unless we are talking about an extremely deep league. But these are still names worth keeping an eye on. When I’m looking at tight ends, I’m looking for a high ceiling pass-catcher. Size, frame, athletic ability, and pass-catching skills are at the top of my list. If they can block that’s nice, but I’ll worry about that after they’ve completed three years in college.

5 Notable Devy Prospects That I Ranked Lower Than Consensus

After I submitted my rankings update for April, I started looking around to see which players I valued less than my six teammates. As I looked at the players on that list, I noticed there were some key names there, so I figured I would take a minute to detail where I stand on this group of players.

On a scale of Carole Baskins to Joe Exotic, how likely is Notre Dame to make the playoffs in 2020? @devywarehouse

Much like Manti Te’o’s girlfriend, Carole’s husband, and Saff Exotic’s arm, Notre Dame has officially disappeared from the title picture. Unlike the curious cases above, the Irish’s problem is that they have proven themselves unable to compete with the speed of the premier programs.

April Mockarena: Combined 2020 Rookie and Devy Mock Draft

One of our readers emailed and asked if we had plans to produce anything where we ranked 2020 rookies and Devy prospects together. We didn’t at the time, but since spring football doesn’t have our undivided attention right now and we are always down for a mock draft, we knocked out a 12-team, 5-round Superflex mock draft where the draft pool is made up of both 2020 rookies and Devy prospects

10 Players Devy Watch is Lower On Than ADP

We have knocked out 8 superflex mocks over a two-month span. This gives us a solid starting point to compare the ranks in the Devy Watch Guide to our ADP we’ve compiled. We can see who we at Devy Watch are low on compared to public perception. Below are the top 10 players that we have ranked lower than their current ADP and our reasoning behind it.

Early Impact Freshmen

Normally, this time of the year is when college football programs are gearing up for their annual Spring games. Teams are ordering their depth charts and getting their lineups in sync. But perhaps most importantly, freshmen are looking to make names for themselves and carve out early roles on teams.

Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing Spring games this year. However, that won’t stop me from projecting which incoming freshmen could see an expanded role early on and what players will make impacts during their true freshman seasons.

What Will Ohio State Get From Trey Sermon?

When Sermon entered the Transfer Portal earlier this month, the Ohio State rumors started swirling immediately. In the end, they weren’t rumors at all. Between Sermon’s relationship with OSU RB coach Tony Alford and the unfortunate injury to Master Teague, the timing was perfect.

2020 Depleted Devy Draft Recap

Three of the Devy Watch team members are all in the same (12 teams, 1 QB, PPR) devy league. We recently had our annual 3 round Devy draft and wanted to share our picks and the rationale behind those picks with our readers. For further context, the league has been in existence for 5+ years, so this was a relatively depleted draft.

2020 Under-the-Radar Breakout Candidates

With no live sports, now is the perfect time to look over college rosters and identify players that have the potential to have breakout seasons. Sure, we can discuss some of the obvious brand names such as Garrett Wilson and Jadon Haselwood, but I find it much more interesting to identify the diamonds in the rough. There are a few dynamic athletes and high-level skill players that I’ve identified to possibly have breakouts in 2020. Who are they? Continue reading to find out.

Devy Watch: 20/20 Vision (Clayton)

One of the best things about our team is that we have seven team members to share ideas with, debate, and get a consensus ranking on players. We decided to break the player pool into specific conferences and divisions last season and we are currently in our second consecutive season with each analyst being responsible for the same group. We believe the continuity in that evaluation is helpful and is aided by the size of our team to test our evaluations and hypothesis against. This article series will provide a window into the minds and processes of each analyst and our aim is to better inform the readers about players we had strong feelings about this cycle.

NFL Combine Futures

The offensive skill positions finished testing at the 2020 NFL Combine on Friday. Each year, while several players surprise, many others don’t meet expectations. Athleticism and football go hand-in-hand. The combination matters to those who make football decisions, and success catapults players up team draft boards. I searched far and wide to collect athletic numbers for future NFL Combine participants. Here are some of the top athletic numbers for running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends who are currently in college.

From an individual talent standpoint, the SEC East is in a sad state this year. When we first started doing this, there were 80-90 SEC players included in our annual publication. Sure, we’ve tightened up the requirements as a whole, and I’ve become more strict with my grades the past two years, but this year, only 12 returning players from the SEC East seemed worthy.

Devy Freshman Stock Report

Fields and Lawrence Headline 2021, but Who’s Next?

Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields were first or second in any QB rankings one could find during the 2018 recruiting process. Both were highly touted 5-stars who are the best prep QBs I have ever evaluated. Their rise through the college ranks has been anticipated and projected by the @DevyWatch as both were top 3 QBs in all of college football for our annual publication before either took a college snap. I think it is a forgone conclusion that these two QBs are the premier talents in college football and likely to be the most coveted NFL prospects in the last decade at the QB position. Both should go in the top 3 picks in the 2021 NFL draft and I would say top 2 but Oregon Left Tackle Penei Sewell is in the conversation as a top pick.

So who is the next guy?
