COLLEGE FANTASY FOOTBALL

THE BAG MAN: April 10, 2020

On a scale of Carole Baskins to Joe Exotic, how likely is Notre Dame to make the playoffs in 2020? @devywarehouse

Much like Manti Te’o’s girlfriend, Carole’s husband, and Saff Exotic’s arm, Notre Dame has officially disappeared from the title picture. Unlike the curious cases above, the Irish’s problem is that they have proven themselves unable to compete with the speed of the premier programs.

CFB DFS: Friday, December 19th

I’ve elected to focus on DraftKings for this Friday card. I’ve included my favorite lineup that I’ve entered into the main slate.

Buyer beware on this slate. The potential Utah State suspensions make this a crapshoot. I’m avoiding the recently arrested Aggies, for better or worse. We’ve got a game in the Bahamas with winds that may hit 30 MPH, this is a high variance card and not my cup of tea.

CFF Year One Impact

I am using the term “impact” liberally. I’ve attempted to identify several players at every position that could make a 2020 impact in college fantasy. The landscape isn’t settled as many talented players will likely de-commit, and many haven’t committed at all yet. I’m in the infantile stages of identifying which players are both talented and will have opportunities to produce as freshmen. This list will consist primarily of the highest-rated players in the 247Sports ranks, and I will do a follow-up piece on impact freshmen once I am more familiar with the prospects, we know which players are moving on from teams, and which coaches will be hired at each school.

CFB DFS: Friday, October 11th

I’ve elected to focus on DraftKings for this Friday card. I’ve included my favorite lineups that I’ve entered into contests.

There are a bunch of injuries to key players on this slate, so I would advise going with a low-volume approach or be prepared to make last-minute lineup shuffles on a Friday night if new info presents itself. I likely won’t be available to provide updates tonight. Buyer beware.

CFF: Week Two Waiver Wire Targets

Week 1 helps us to begin to suss out which players are pretenders and which are contenders. In some cases, we got the clarity that we desired. In others, the waters are just as murky. I’ve included a large contingent of players that I’m either attempting to land in my leagues, or I’ve made a note to monitor their usage in week two. These players are listed in alphabetical order. Unfortunately, with it being a Holiday Weekend, I don’t have the time to rank them appropriately. I plan to write up some extended thoughts and publish them tomorrow. I plan to touch on many of these players in that article but wanted to get this out on Monday, to be relevant for the majority of league’s waiver runs.

College Football DFS Strategy Session II

In the first edition of this series, we discussed how targeting talented, explosive backup players in a tournament setting can be a successful strategy. Simply put: those players’ salaries don’t accurately reflect their range of outcomes given their big-play ability and potential game script. Florida playmaker Kadarius Toney was Exhibit A of that strategy paying off on the opening night of the season. On one long touchdown, Toney more than paid off his extremely discounted price tag. Now let’s take a look at another strategy we can successfully employ this season in college football DFS, especially on Draftkings.

College Football DFS: Week Zero

I’ve put together a couple of lineups on DraftKings that I like for the Week Zero slate. Most weeks, I’ll try to include some thoughts for both DraftKings and FanDuel, however, I couldn’t find anything I was excited about on FanDuel with this short card.
