We are at the halfway mark in the college football season! We have seen some big shake-ups in terms of rankings, as is the case with this upcoming rookie class. Some ups, some down. Some fresh faces, and some players falling off the map altogether. So let us take a peek at what the upcoming rookie class currently looks like!

2022 Rookie Mock(PPR):

Positive Trend:

  • As you can see, the top of round 1 sees no movement at all. Even with the added PPR value, the top 6 remain the same. Most times, I would move WRs up in a PPR format but I fully believe both Hall and Spiller hold tremendous value in PPR settings and are both quality pass catchers. And the receivers are no one-trick ponies. These guys are all solid route runners that have the ability to win with or without a ton of volume.
  • Jahan Dotson is a fresh face in my rankings. Dotson has put up some incredible production all season long and proven he can be a PPR machine! Dotson has good size with some very good route running. He can win and get open early to give his QB a reliable target but also has the ability to win over the top as well. Dotson has a strong chance of getting drafted high and should be a top rookie pick, especially in PPR formats.
  • Malik Willis jumps into the rankings. It is hard to ignore his rise and the potential of him being the top QB off the board. At the least, he is looking more and more like a lock as a top 15 pick. With his dual-threat ability, he could be a productive QB in fantasy leagues at the next level.
  • Joe Ngata is a guy I have liked since he was coming out of high school but has been hit or miss all season long. But for me, it is about time we start to chalk that up to QB and the offense as a whole. Ngata leads Clemson in receiving yards and is a dynamic player overall. My biggest worry is that his draft stock will be less than ideal, but his talent is off the charts.

Negative Trend:

  • We can no longer ignore the elephant in the room that is Spencer Rattler. Rattler has had a less than ideal season after being a Heisman favorite and pegged as the #1 overall pick. This culminated in him being benched and his backup leading the Sooners to a comeback win. Even if Rattler gets the starting gig back, he has a LONG way to work back up NFL draft boards as well as in dynasty circles.
  • Kevin Harris was a Devy Watch darling coming into the season after a monster 2020 season but has had his production take a massive dip. Some of this is due to injury and the offense, but it can’t be overlooked. I still believe in his talent and ability to move back up the draft boards, but I will have to wait and see it for myself before he starts to move in that direction.

Players With Added PPR Value:

  • Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn St
  • Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College
  • Jerrion Ealy, RB, Ole Miss
