Commitments

Michael Redding III commits to Miami (FL)
WR, 6’1”, 195 lbs, 247 Composite 4*, IMG Academy, Florida

The Hurricanes snagged a pledge from the 4-star in-state receiver. Redding ranks as the 35th best receiver according to the 247Sports composite ranks. Clocking a 4.56 40-yard dash from February of this year. A one-time Notre Dame and Florida State lean, it appears both schools passed on Redding after showing an early interest in him. He’s a very polished receiver for still being in high school, but there’s not a lot of flash to his game. He doesn’t have a big ceiling, but he has enough talent to be a solid college contributor.

Daniel Jackson commits to Minnesota
WR, 5’11”, 185 lbs, 247 Composite 4*, Bishop Miege, Kansas

Minnesota secured the commitment of a one-time highly recruited receiver. Jackson is the cousin of current Notre Dame running back, Jafar Armstrong. Notre Dame was his likely landing spot until Jackson suffered a torn ACL that forced him to miss his entire junior season. That lead the Irish to back off of his recruitment. Jackson picked Minnesota over Iowa State and Wisconsin. If the Kansas native can regain his form prior to his injury, he will become quite the steal for the Golden Gophers.

Ze’Vian Capers commits to Auburn
WR, 6’3”, 195 lbs, 247 Composite 4*, Denmark, Georgia

Capers committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks back in February but saw his recruitment blow up in the spring with offers from Auburn and Tennessee. As a junior, he hauled in 60/1182/11 at Denmark High School. He displays good speed for his size and has the potential to be a vertical threat for the Tigers. Capers has a good frame – long and lanky. He’ll need to bulk up once he gets to Auburn. Capers is one of two 4-star receiver commits from the state of Georgia joining Kobe Hudson who’s ranked slightly higher.

Jalen Hampton commits to Virginia Tech
RB, 5’9”, 195lbs, 247 Composite 3*, Georgetown Prep., Maryland

Hampton committed to the Hokies over Rutgers, Temple, and UMass. After running a reported 4.46 40-yard dash back in May, he earned an offer from Virginia Tech. Hampton has a thick build to go along with his blazing speed. Runs very low to the ground and shows good burst. Despite not having a lot of Power Five offers, Hampton looks like a very solid player. A potential steal for Virginia Tech.

Chris Tyree wins Fastest Man at The Opening Finals two straight years

Tyree has competed at The Opening Finals two straight years and has won the Fastest Man competition both years. He won in 2018 with a time of 4.45 seconds. In 2019, he posted a 4.37 40-yard dash along with a 40.8” vertical jump. Tyree committed to Notre Dame over Alabama and Oklahoma back in May. As a junior, he posted 177/1446/11 on the ground to go along with 23/302/1 receiving. Ranked as the nation’s top All-Purpose Back, Tyree will bring dynamic playmaking ability to Notre Dame next fall. His speed and explosion are what sets him apart from other backs in this class.
