As part of our one-year celebration, we are dropping a four-round mock draft with only underclassmen (2022 and 2023 draft-eligible prospects). See where the future of college football ends up below. This draft was mocked with the Superflex, PPR, and TE Premium formats in mind.

Round 1

1.01 Cody – George Pickens, WR, Georgia

1.02 Greg – Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State

1.03 LJ – Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina

1.04 Kyle – Isaiah Spiller, RB, Texas A&M

1.05 Brad – Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

1.06 Jason – David Bell, WR, Purdue

1.07 Clay – Joe Ngata, WR, Clemson

1.08 Clay – Trey Sanders, RB, Alabama

1.09 Jason – Spencer Rattler, QB, Oklahoma

1.10 Brad – Kedon Slovis, QB, USC

1.11 Kyle – Wan’Dale Robinson, RB/WR, Nebraska

1.12 LJ – Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas

The first round mostly consisted of 2022 prospects shockingly enough. It kicked off with the first two picks being the top WR and RB from the class, George Pickens and Breece Hall, before jumping into our top rated 2022 QB Sam Howell. The 2022 class is strong at WR with 4 of the top 7 picks coming from that position. For my money, you can mix up those top 4 WRs in any order you want to, that’s how strong this class is. We also see Trey Sanders come off the board in the 1st even after his injury history. It will be interesting to see what he can do once he gets the starting gig. Spencer Rattler is another highly touted QB that went off the board and he follows in the footsteps of some highly productive QBs and looks to continue that trend. – @_codygarrett

Round 2

2.01 Greg – Theo Wease, WR, Oklahoma

2.02 Cody – Julian Fleming, WR, Ohio State

2.03 Cody – Demond Demas, WR, Texas A&M

2.04 Greg – Jayden Daniels, QB, Arizona State

2.05 LJ – Bryce Young, QB, Alabama

2.06 Kyle – Zach Charbonnet, RB, Michigan

2.07 Brad – DJ Uiagalelei, QB, Clemson

2.08 Jason – Jerrion Ealy, RB, Ole Miss

2.09 Clay – John Emery, RB, LSU

2.10 Clay – Bo Nix, QB, Auburn

2.11 Jason – MarShawn Lloyd, RB, South Carolina

2.12 Brad – DJ Williams, RB, Auburn

Round 2 has a good balance of QBs, RBs, and WRs. The round started with my WR1 from the 2019 recruiting cycle followed by the near-consensus top two incoming freshmen WRs. The four QBs taken in Round 2 are all young, promising, and fairly mobile even if not true dual threats. Three of the four RBs selected here made a name for themselves last season. Emery was the most highly-touted RB taken in this round, but he had the least experience in 2019. Lloyd is worthy of this spot because he’s talented, but he’s walking into a situation where about 80% of his team’s rushing production was vacated.  – @DW_BMack

Round 3

3.01 Kyle – CJ Johnson, WR, ECU

3.02 LJ – Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Georgia Tech

3.03 Greg – Frank Ladson, WR, Clemson

3.04 Cody – Eric Gray, RB, Tennessee

3.05 Cody – Arik Gilbert, TE, LSU

3.06 Greg – Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State

3.07 LJ – DeaMonte Trayanum, RB, Arizona State

3.08 Kyle – Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas

3.09 Brad – Kendall Milton, RB, Georgia

3.10 Jason – Jake Smith, WR, Texas

3.11 Clay – Kayshon Boutte, WR, LSU

3.12 Clay – Gee Scott Jr., WR, Ohio State

In the third round, we see a nice run of freshmen come off the board. These are some high-upside players, but some of them will have to wait a year or two before they become a full-time workhorse. Trayanum will be a name to watch as he is rumored to be the starter for the Sun Devils, who have gotten amazing production from the RB position. We also see our first TE come off the board in highly-recruited Arik Gilbert. LSU is losing their starting TE to the NFL, which means Gilbert could step into a prominent role in an explosive offense. Also, keep an eye on Eric Gray and Jake Smith – two sophomores that should be stepping up their role with their respective teams and could explode for huge seasons. – @_codygarrett

Round 4

4.01 Jason – Jordan Whittington, RB/WR, Texas

4.02 Brad – Tyler Goodson, RB, Iowa

4.03 Kyle- Josh Downs, WR, North Carolina

4.04 LJ – Rakim Jarrett, WR, Maryland

4.05 Greg – Baylor Cupp, TE, Texas A&M

4.06 Cody – Zachary Evans, RB, TCU

4.07 Cody – Jalen McMillan, WR, Washington

4.08 Greg – Trey Knox, WR, Arkansas

4.09 LJ – Tank Bigsby, RB, Auburn

4.10 Kyle – Re’Mahn Davis, RB, Temple

4.11 Brad – Tyrion Davis-Price, RB, LSU

4.12 Jason – Bru McCoy, WR, USC

4.13 Clay – Puka Nacua, WR, Washington

The fourth round offers a mixed bag of ages, positions, and collegiate production profiles. This is the sweet spot where owners heavily targeted the top incoming freshmen. Every player in this group, aside from Re Davis, was a coveted recruit. I’m always curious how the market will value players that have little opportunity to break out this season. No player on this list should be a redshirt candidate, but several of them will need another year before their value spikes with a highly productive season. However, that is the name of the game when you are doing an underclassmen-only draft. – @FranchiseKF
