The 2020 Draft is long gone, but draft season never ends for most football fans! With the college football season looming, the NFL season getting ramped up, I thought it would be good to take a look at the top prospects at each position that will be eligible for the 2021 draft! We kick things off with the quarterback position!
1. Trevor Lawrence, Clemson

There will be some debate about who is the top dog in this year’s draft class, and rightfully so, but for my money, I still have Lawrence at the top! Lawrence has every tool you could ask for out of your quarterback and executes them at a high level. Size? Check. Arm talent? Check. Athleticism? Check. Mechanics? Check. Lawrence can put the ball wherever he wants to, has command of a high-level offense, and can make plays with his feet. By the time the draft rolls around, people will be talking about him being one of the better QB prospects they have ever seen.
2. Justin Fields, Ohio State

I may have Fields second in my rankings, but it is a VERY close second. Fields will be ranked #1 by many draftniks during the course of the season and I won’t argue it one bit. Fields has shown his athleticism since he stepped on campus at Georgia, but last season, with Ohio State, he was able to show off how great of a passer he is as well. Fields has a very smooth throwing motion and can whip it down the field effortlessly. He has excellent mechanics and can make plays from within the pocket. Fields is also a giant QB standing at 6’3” and 225lbs. With a ton of talent around him, Fields should be firmly in the Heisman talks once again this season and will be vying for the top draft slot next spring.
3. Trey Lance, North Dakota State
1. Quick/Easy throwing motion
2. Deep accuracy
3. Play-action comfortThose are the three traits that immediately jump off of the screen about North Dakota State QB Trey Lance (6-3, 224, R-So.) pic.twitter.com/WVVHUwMpbt

NDSU has a knack for producing quality QB prospects and Lance is one of the better ones they’ve had. Lance has been the buzz of the draft world and after watching him, I can see why. Lance has very good mechanics and puts some tremendous zip on his passes. He is very athletic and can extend plays with his feet or take off running for huge gains. He throws a very pretty ball with good touch. People will question the level of competition he faces, but I think his talent supersedes that. It will be interesting to see how far he rises through the process but going top 10 seems very feasible for Lance.
4. Davis Mills, Stanford
Perfect throw here from Davis Mills. Going to be interesting to see how he progresses this year as the unquestioned starter at Stanford. Was the #1 QB out of HS above Tua. pic.twitter.com/U6HPtWLTQi

I’m sure this is the one that will shock most everyone reading! Mills doesn’t get talked about much as a legitimate prospect, but I think he should be. I wrote more about Mills in my breakout article that you can check out here.
5. Brock Purdy, Iowa State

With a few high-level recruits, Brock Purdy seems to be the forgotten man going under-the-radar in this class but has the talent to sneak into the first round come draft time. Purdy plays very well from within the pocket. He is very calm and handles pressure very well. He doesn’t have a rocket arm that jumps off the tape but has good enough zip to put the ball through tight windows. Purdy does an excellent job going through progressions and finding the open man. Many will label him as a game manager, but Purdy is very smart with the football and doesn’t take unnecessary chances. Depending on how the draft shakes out, Purdy has the chance to sneak into the first round and could go as high as a top-15 pick.
Next Five:
6. Jamie Newman, Georgia
7. Mac Jones, Alabama
8. Myles Brennan, LSU
9. Tanner Morgan, Minnesota
