We have several changes to the poll this week including a new number one! Alabama has done enough to convince four of our seven voters that they belong in the top spot over Clemson. As Alabama enters SEC play, their schedule is getting tougher so each win will look better. Meanwhile, Clemson beginning ACC play looks to mean the opposite.
The top 10 is starting to take shape. Georgia and Ohio State are still tied in points, but with more fourth-place votes, the Bulldogs jumped the Buckeyes. Notre Dame and Michigan swapped spots as did Auburn and Texas.
Utah is steadily climbing the poll, doing enough to overtake Florida this week. With a win over a P5 team in Stanford, UCF overtook two one-loss teams in Texas A&M and Oregon. USC and Maryland both suffered three-point losses this week dropping them from the poll and making Iowa the biggest mover – up from 25 to 22. Two teams dropping out mean two new additions. Appalachian State and Memphis make their poll debut this week.
Others receiving votes: TCU (5), Wake Forest (5), Temple (3), Arizona State (1)
Dropped out: USC, Maryland
The Devy Watch Top 25 is calculated by the rankings of the seven members of the team. A first-place vote equals 25 points, a second-place vote equals 24 points and so on, down to 25th being worth a single point.
