Six of our top 25 teams lost in Week 2 so this week’s poll looks a little different. Stanford, Nebraska, and Cincinnati fell out this week while Maryland, USC, and Iowa made their poll debuts. Under new Head Coach Mike Locksley, Maryland has outscored their opponents 142-20. After a season-ending injury to QB JT Daniels, Clay Helton and the Trojans have ridden freshman QB Kedon Slovis to a 2-0 record. There might be some hope for the Men of Troy after all.
Others receiving votes: Iowa State (9), Michigan State (8), North Carolina (5), Appalachian State (5), Houston (4)
Dropped out: Stanford, Nebraska, Cincinnati
The Devy Watch Top 25 is calculated by the rankings of the seven members of the team. A first-place vote equals 25 points, a second-place vote equals 24 points and so on, down to 25th being worth a single point.
