Streaks
Everywhere you turned Saturday, there was mention of some kind of streak.
Trevor Lawrence’s streak of passes without an interception ended at 367…12 shy of Russell Wilson’s ACC record 379.
Mack Brown fell to 0-10 as a head coach versus Florida State.
Kentucky won in Knoxville for the first time since 1984.
South Carolina beat Auburn for the first time since 1933. Granted, they’ve only played 13 times.
Memphis snapped their 13-game losing streak to UCF. Lately, Memphis has built double-digit halftime leads only for UCF to come from behind and win a close one. The script was flipped this time as UCF had a 13-point halftime lead and a 21-point lead in the second half before Memphis rallied.
Nick Saban extended his winning streak versus his former assistants to 22-0. This week, he faces another former assistant in Jeremy Pruitt and the Vols.
M.I.A.
Damonte Coxie didn’t play Saturday after rumors about him opting out. After the Tigers’ win over UCF, head coach Ryan Silverfield said that Coxie is not part of the program right now. Coxie led the Tigers in receptions the last two seasons and was a big part of why Brady White returned.
Kylin Hill didn’t play Saturday due to a suspension, reportedly for behavioral reasons. His status with the team is unclear.
Injuries
Word came out late last night that Texas WR Jordan Whittington is going to miss time with an abdominal/soft-tissue injury. I love Whittington’s game and I’ve held on as long as I could, but it’s time to move on. Whittington is rarely available on game day.
NC State QB Devin Leary will miss up to 8 weeks after surgery to repair a broken fibula.
Brevin Jordan missed Miami’s game with a shoulder injury.
Pitt QB Kenny Pickett’s ankle injury kept him out of the game against Miami Saturday.
UTSA QB Lowell Narcisse left the game in an air cast.
BYU WR Gunner Romney left early Friday night with a hamstring.
D.J. Uiagalelei was the only Clemson player who didn’t play Saturday. He was dealing with some soreness according to Dabo. Taisun Phommachanh took the second-string reps against Georgia Tech before breaking a bone in his non-throwing hand.
