Michigan 21 At Indiana 38

  • Man, was I wrong about Michigan after game 1. They got me and fooled the hell out of me.
  • Joe Milton had a pretty meh day. He finished with over 10 yards per attempts, that’s great, but barely completed 50% of his passes and he tossed 2 INTs. Missed wide-open shots down the field. He has potential but still has a really long way to go. His deep accuracy isn’t very good at the moment.
  • The backfield is just a mess. Four backs received a carry and nobody had more than 6 rushes. Hassan Haskins led the way with 6-19. Since his 70-yard rushing TD in game 1 against Minnesota, Zach Charbonnet has tallied a grand total of 9 carries for 7 yards. WTF is going on with this offense? I’m not the biggest Charbonnet fan, but he still is much better than what we are seeing from him.
  • Matt Miller’s RB4 Chris Evans continues to light it up. He went 3-5 on the day. He now has a staggering 34 yards on 11 attempts for the season.
  • Ronnie Bell looks like he’s secured the WR1 role for Michigan. He finished on the day with 6-149-1. Bell looks to be a solid Day 3 prospect.
  • SO WR Cornelious Johnson had a career day (4-82-1) including an impressive TD snag.
  • Michael Penix Jr had another solid day as he led the Hoosiers to 3-0. He had 3 TDs on 6.8 YPA.
  • Stevie Scott went 24-97, another meh day.
  • Whop Philyor had an impressive 11 snags but only went for 79 yards.
  • SR WR Ty Fryfogle had a big afternoon (7-142-1). He’s had a solid start to the season and may work himself into Day 3 consideration.
  • Peyton Hendershot finds the end zone again. Finishing with 4-32-1.

Michigan State 7 At Iowa 49

  • Rocky Lombardi came back down to earth with a 3 INT game.
  • The Spartans’ rush game stays really really bad. Still can’t believe people had Elijah Collins as a top 30 overall Devy asset. To date, Collins has tallied 17 yards on 16 attempts.
  • It was a rough day for Spartan receivers not named Jalen Nailor. Nailor finished with 4-119 the rest of the receiving core tallied 108 yards on the day.
  • Spencer Petras is just another Iowa QB. Nothing special or game-changing about him.
  • Tyler Goodson had another good game (14-113-2). He’s been very steady to start the season.
  • Nobody really sticks out in the receiving core with the suspension to Ihmir Smith-Marsette.

Nebraska 13 At Northwestern 21

  • Adrian Martinez was bad, really bad. As a three-year starter, he should look much better than this. While the Wildcats are one of the best teams in the nation defending the pass, Martinez should still look better. He did rush for over 100 yards but that doesn’t matter for the NFL if you can’t get on the field.
  • SO QB Luke McCaffrey got a lot of playing time after Martinez was pulled. McCaffrey had a better completion percentage and yards per attempt than Martinez.
  • The QBs continue to be the best part of the running game. RBs have failed to show up in both games.
  • Wan’Dale Robinson didn’t get much going on Saturday (4-32). Nebraska has to figure out a way to get him going and to be more involved moving forward.
  • tFR WR Zavier Betts had a couple of snags for 17 yards. Betts is a good name to monitor for next season.
  • Nobody outside of TE John Raine is of much interest to me for Devy. Raine led the team in receiving with 4-33-1.

Minnesota 41 At Illinois 14

  • The Gophers got their get-right game. The defense needed to run into an offense like this.
  • Tanner Morgan is a JAG as much as people wanted him to be more. He was propelled by two NFL WRs in 2019.
  • Mohamed Ibrahim has been a beast to start the season. Saturday against the Illini, he ran wild for 30-224-4. This is now back-to-back 200+ yard games with 4 TDs. Ibrahim has been great to start the season, but I don’t think he’s a difference-maker for the NFL.
  • Rashod Bateman continues to dominate the targets. Bateman hauled in 10-154-1. Bateman leads the nation at 45.2% target share, 50.2% market share of yards, and is third in the nation 4.14 Yards Per Team Passing Attempts.
  • Josh Imatorbhebhe is the only piece of Illinois that is worth monitoring. He caught 2-60 but that accounted for 60% of the passing yards on the day.

Maryland 35 At Penn State 19

  • Taulia Tagovailoa has had two straight great weeks after his horrible debut game against Northwestern. Taulia is performing much better than I anticipated prior to the season.
  • Maryland’s backfield continues to be led by Jake Funk but he doesn’t interest me for Devy. tFR backs Peny Boone (4-20) and Isaiah Jacobs (6-14) are the eyes to keep an eye for down the road.
  • tFR WR Rakim Jarrett had his coming-out party. He made two explosive TDs that he just shredded the defense with his speed. He finished with 5-144-2.
  • Dontay Demas Jr had another solid showing with 6-86-1.
  • Sean Clifford is bad. Penn State isn’t going anywhere with him at QB but unfortunately, they don’t have anybody else on the roster. 2 INTs and 7 sacks aren’t going to get it done in the B1G.
  • Devyn Ford had another meh day (9-36). Ford is a solid college back but nothing else.
  • tFR back Caziah Holmes had his most work of the season 9-29. He’s the back that I like the most out of this backfield. Fellow tFR Keyvone Lee only had 1 carry for 3 yards.
  • Jahan Dotson continues his heater (9-123-1). He continues to show the ability to win contested balls.
  • Pat Freiermuth had his best game of the year with 6-91.
  • tFR WR Parker Washington had a good game 8-70-2. Not the best yards per attempt game, but he finds the end zone for the third time this young season.

Rutgers 27 At Ohio State 49

  • Justin Fields is good. Completing 88% of passes on the season after three games. This Buckeyes passing game can’t be stopped.
  • The rushing game looked a bit better this week. Master Teague went for 12-60-1 and caught 3-37 while Trey Sermon went for 12-68. The running backs accounted for nearly 170 yards, their best showing this season.
  • Garrett Wilson is really good. His 6-104-1 night helped him to have the second-best Yards Per Team Passing Attempts and top 10 nationwide in Yards Per Route Ran.
  • Chris Olave had another good night (5-64-2). Olave is top 10 in the nation in Yards Per Target.
  • Jameson Williams is still dominating the WR3 snaps. He only caught one ball for a 38 yard TD.
  • Isaih Pacheco led the way for the Rutgers offense (7-68).
  • Bo Melton keeps producing like we hoped he would for the last two seasons (7-86).
