May Evaluation Period: QB Sawyer Robertson

Sawyer Robertson is a 6’3″ 190-pound quarterback from Coronado High School in Lubbock, Texas. According to 247sports, the 4-star prospect is the #9 pro-style QB and the #28 player in Texas. When he committed to Mike Leach and Mississippi State about a month ago, he became the highest-rated QB commit Leach has ever had and the highest-rated QB to commit to the Bulldogs in 17 years.

Living in middle Tennessee, I’ve known about Jake Briningstool for a couple of years now, but most people’s introduction came on this catch during the camp circuit last summer. Briningstool, a 6’5″ 218-pound tight end, plays his high school ball at Ravenwood High School in Brentwood, TN. Currently, he’s the #1 TE nationally and #1 player in the state of Tennessee, according to the 247 Composite.

Let’s continue our look at the 2021 freshman class with 247 Composite 4-star wide receiver Christian Leary. The 5’9″ 180-pound kid from Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida, recently got a massive bump in 247sports’ new Top247. He moved up to WR18. He currently has 43 offers, but he hasn’t scheduled a commitment date yet.

CFB Conspectus: April 4,2020

Normally, we recap the college football week that was in the CFB Conspectus, but I’m going to approach it a little differently this week. As we are all trying to figure out what to do with all of our newfound free time, I can’t help but think about what canceling spring football means for the 2020 college football season and everything that goes with it. Devy Watch: 20/20 Vision (Brad)

From an individual talent standpoint, the SEC East is in a sad state this year. When we first started doing this, there were 80-90 SEC players included in our annual publication. Sure, we’ve tightened up the requirements as a whole, and I’ve become more strict with my grades the past two years, but this year, only 12 returning players from the SEC East seemed worthy.
