Draft season is upon us ladies and gentlemen! With the NFL Draft less than a month away, I thought it would be a good time to drop a full 7 round mock; with trades! But this year, I wanted to do it a bit differently. Instead of your basic 7 round mock where you scroll through pages of picks and find your team’s selections with relatively no commentary, I decided to break the mock-up and do an article on each individual team’s haul! Giving you a breakdown of what each team brought in and how I think it could help. So without further adieu, let’s kick things off!

With the 14th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select…

  • Alijah Vera-Tucker, OL, USC(1st round)
  • Richie Grant, S, UCF(3rd round)
  • Dyami Brown, WR, UNC(3rd round)
  • Patrick Johnson, DE, Tulane(4th round)
  • Adrian Ealy, OT, Oklahoma(4th round)
  • Benjamin St-Juste, CB, Minnesota(4th round)
  • David Moore, OL, Grambling(4th round)
  • Sage Surratt, WR, Wake Forest(5th round)
  • Jermar Jefferson, RB, Oregon St(5th round)
  • Miller Forristall, TE, Alabama(6th round)

Overall, I actually like the Vikings team and the players they have at key positions. They do have a few needs but overall they have a ton of talent on their team. This puts them in a great position to not get desperate and take the best players available to them.

With their first-round pick, they land one of my favorite offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker. AVT played tackle in college but can kick inside to play guard as well. This versatility will be huge for a Vikings team that could use help at multiple spots on their line. With also landing Ealy and Moore, they can see who fits and plug AVT in where he is needed. On offense, they also bolster their skill position players. Landing Dyami Brown is a great get and a player that can fit beautifully with Jefferson and Theilen. Surratt, Jefferson, and Forristall will also provide good depth.

They add Richie Grant to the defensive side of the ball. Grant is a big safety with very good athleticism and range. Patrick Johnson is an athletic defensive end with a very good motor and can get after the QB. They also add Benjamin St-Juste, a defensive backs that can provide depth and have the upside to be a full-time starter.

As said before, I like the Vikings team overall. In this draft, they do a great job of adding excellent talent and plugging in some holes that they may have. With these additions, I think their offense can take another step and the Vikings can be a very dangerous team.
