Draft season is upon us ladies and gentlemen! With the NFL Draft less than a month away, I thought it would be a good time to drop a full 7 round mock; with trades! But this year, I wanted to do it a bit differently. Instead of your basic 7 round mock where you scroll through pages of picks and find your team’s selections with relatively no commentary, I decided to break the mock up and do an article on each individual team’s haul! Giving you a breakdown of what each team brought in and how I think it could help. So without further adieu, let’s kick things off!
With the 29th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select…
- Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue(1st round)
- Dylan Moses, LB, Alabama(2nd round)
- Spencer Brown, OT, Northern Iowa(3rd round)
- Bryan Mills, CB, North Carolina Central(4th round)
- Divine Deablo, S, Virginia Tech(4th round)
- LaBryan Ray, DT, Alabama(5th round)
- Robert Jones, OL, Middle Tennessee(5th round)
- Quintin Morris, TE, Bowling Green(6th round)
- Jonathan Cooper, DE, Ohio St(6th round)
- Shemar Jean-Charles, CB Appalachian St(7th round)
The Green Bay Packers are firmly in win now mode and should treat most of this draft in such a way. Aaron Rodgers is one of the best in the NFL and they need to capitalize on having him before father time steps in.
They kick things off in the first round grabbing Rondale Moore. Some may think this is too early, but I think he is too talented to let him fall past you this late. Moore is explosive, quick, shifty, and a true playmaker with the ball in his hands. There are endless things that he can be used for and would be a perfect complement to Adams. They also snag Spencer Brown in the 3rd; a solid tackle that can slide over to the right side opposite Bakhtiari to help protect Rodgers.
On the defensive side of the ball, they grab Dylan Moses who was once seen as a potential top 10 pick. Moses is a versatile linebacker that can fly around the field and make plays. If he can stay healthy, he could potentially be a franchise-type linebacker for this team. From there, they add a ton of depth and upside to the defensive side of the ball. Mills, Deablo, Ray, and Cooper are all skilled athletes that could potentially be full-time, productive starters for this defense.
Overall, the Packers do a good job of adding talented players that are ready to contribute right away. Rondale Moore can step into many different roles and perform at a high level. He will open up this offense and make it more dangerous than it already is. They also add a slew of defenders that can make an impact for this team and elevate the defense to SB worthy.
