Draft season is upon us ladies and gentlemen! With the NFL Draft less than a month away, I thought it would be a good time to drop a full 7 round mock; with trades! But this year, I wanted to do it a bit differently. Instead of your basic 7 round mock where you scroll through pages of picks and find your team’s selections with relatively no commentary, I decided to break the mock-up and do an article on each individual team’s haul! Giving you a breakdown of what each team brought in and how I think it could help. So without further adieu, let’s kick things off!

With the 12th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select…

  • Devonta Smith, WR, Alabama(1st round)
  • Wyatt Davis, OL, Ohio St(2nd round)
  • Ifeatu Melifonwu, CB, Syracuse(3rd round)
  • Seth Williams, WR, Auburn(3rd round)
  • Marlon Tuipulotu, DT, USC(4th round)
  • Charles Snowden, LB, Virginia(5th round)
  • Luke Farrell, TE, Ohio St(6th round)
  • JaCoby Stevens, S, LSU(6th round)
  • Brenden Jaimes, OT, Nebraska(6th round)
  • Grant Stuard, LB, Houston(7th round)
  • Jaylon Moore, OT, Western Michigan(7th round)

The Eagles are one of the more interesting teams to follow during this draft. They have many needs and so many directions they could go. Do they go QB if someone falls? Do they go offense? Defense? Time will tell, but for now, I have them grabbing another offensive weapon!

The Eagles see one of the top wideouts fall into their lap. While I am not a fan of going WR two years in a row, it would be hard to pass on Smith at this point. Smith is a dynamic receiver with incredible speed. He is a very good route runner, has great hands, and incredible athleticism. He can add an element to this offense that they desperately need. After that, the Eagles add Seth Williams, a receiver I am a huge fan of but saw his stock drop just a bit. They also improve their offensive line by adding Wyatt Davis, a fringe 1st rounder that will really bolster the interior offensive line.

The Eagles also add a slew of defensive players. Ifeatu Melifonwu is an athletic, lengthy corner with tremendous ball skills and the ability to break on the ball. Marlon Tuipulotu is an explosive defensive tackle with great motor and athleticism. Charles Snowden is an extremely athletic edge rusher that has the ability to play a traditional linebacker role if asked to. The Eagles add some quality players that can help elevate the defense.

Overall, the Eagles used this draft to get much better in many areas. Their offense gets a huge kick by adding a dynamic WR to its core as well as adding offensive lineman that can add to the run game and pass protect. They also get much more athletic on the defensive side of the ball and add some potential difference makers. With them also getting an extra 1st round pick next year, the Eagles come away from this draft very nicely.
