Draft season is upon us ladies and gentlemen! With the NFL Draft less than a month away, I thought it would be a good time to drop a full 7 round mock; with trades! But this year, I wanted to do it a bit differently. Instead of your basic 7 round mock where you scroll through pages of picks and find your team’s selections with relatively no commentary, I decided to break the mock up and do an article on each individual team’s haul! Giving you a breakdown of what each team brought in and how I think it could help. So without further adieu, let’s kick things off!

With the 26th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select…

  • Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame(1st round)
  • Patrick Jones II, DE, Pittsburgh(2nd round)
  • Alim McNeil, DT, NC State(3rd round)
  • Jackson Carman, OL, Clemson(3rd round)
  • Israel Mukuamu, CB, South Carolina(4th round)
  • Austin Watkins, WR, UAB(4th round)
  • Anthony Schwartz, WR, Auburn(4th round)
  • Carson Green, OT, Texas A&M(6th round)
  • Shaka Toney, DE, Penn St(7th round)

Oddly enough, I think the Browns are finally in a spot where they have a ton of talent all over their roster and not many glaring needs. This will allow them to target the best players available rather than looking at need and potentially reaching.

With their first pick, they see Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah fall right into their lap. Owusu-Koramoah is the top LB on many people’s boards and is a huge steal at this point in the draft. Owusu-Koramoah is a freak athlete with good instincts, excellent tackling ability, good in coverage, and can get after the QB when needed. He will be an excellent addition to this defense. The Browns load up in other areas of the defense by grabbing edge rusher Patirck Jones, DT Alim McNeil, and CB Israel Mukuamu. All these players have tremendous upside and provide excellent depth to this defense.

The Browns don’t have much of a need on offense but do grab some solid players to add to their roster. Jackson Carman is a solid offensive lineman that is versatile in position. Austin Watkins and Anthony Schwartz are two impressive receivers that both add something different to an already talented receiving core.

Overall, the Browns are able to add talent throughout this draft. They add some excellent defenders as well as depth on offense. They get a ton of players with huge upside that could potentially be game-changers for their team.
