Mayer signs with the Fightin’ Irish as 247Sports second-rated tight end according to their composite rankings. Currently ranked just inside of the Top 50 overall players as the 48th best and number one player in the state of Kentucky. The Irish were on Mayer very early on, securing his commitment the July prior to his junior year of high school.
