Ville fresh off a beatdown of Cuse, 41-3. Without having seen the game, it’s a peculiar box score. Ville only had 382 yards, but scored 41. They averaged 7.1 YPP which shows that they were clearly explosive, but a 41-point output on 382 yards is anomalous. There were only 111 snaps run in the game, which is far below average and a bit bizarre. Cuse couldn’t pass and their rushing attack was bottled up. I knew that it was possible to shut down the Cuse packing attack, even with as bad as Ville’s secondary is, but this was a surprising and wonderful performance from a team that generally plays well for three quarters and folds in the fourth.

These are two underwhelming clubs. Fuente likely at the end of his rope in the rebuild while Hafley is in early days. A quick summarization of VT: Avg rush offense, bad pass offense. Poor rush defense, Above average pass defense. The best component of VT’s team is their pass defense. While their offense is poor on the whole, they’ve done some good things the past two weeks and outperformed my expectations.
