May Evaluation Period: QB JJ McCarthy

JJ McCarthy is a 5-Star QB who recently announced his intention to transfer to the powerhouse IMG Academy in Florida. IMG is well known for producing some top high school prospects in several sports, and McCarthy will add to that list. McCarthy has a decent size standing at 6’2” but will need to add a little weight as he is only 195 lbs. McCarthy had a huge list of offers, but ultimately decided to play for Harbaugh and has committed to the Michigan Wolverines. McCarthy has been very productive in his two seasons as a starter putting up over 6,000 yards passing and 73 touchdowns.

Early Impact Freshmen

Normally, this time of the year is when college football programs are gearing up for their annual Spring games. Teams are ordering their depth charts and getting their lineups in sync. But perhaps most importantly, freshmen are looking to make names for themselves and carve out early roles on teams.

Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing Spring games this year. However, that won’t stop me from projecting which incoming freshmen could see an expanded role early on and what players will make impacts during their true freshman seasons.

Using NFL Combine Stats To Predict Success: 2020 RBs

Another year, another combine has come and gone. Once again, the tape vs analytics debate rages on as draft pundits react, and often times overreact, to how the combine went for certain players. Some have even downgraded players for lack of participation, which is somewhat puzzling to me. But I digress…

For Dynasty purposes, things can become quite convoluted and confusing for those wondering who to draft. Well, here I will try to help make things a bit clearer by using combine performances to help predict future success.

Devy Watch: 20/20 Vision(Cody)

One of the best things about our team is that we have seven team members to share ideas with, debate, and get a consensus ranking on players. We decided to break the player pool into specific conferences and divisions last season and we are currently in our second consecutive season with each analyst being responsible for the same group. We believe the continuity in that evaluation is helpful and is aided by the size of our team to test our evaluations and hypothesis against. This article series will provide a window into the minds and processes of each analyst and our aim is to better inform the readers about players we had strong feelings about this cycle.
