We recently had our annual 3 round Devy draft and wanted to share our picks and the rationale behind those picks with our readers. The majority of highly successful backs in the league harness an explosive first step that helps enable them to burst through the line and past the initial wave of defenders. There may be no incoming 2020 freshman running back who exhibits this trait better than Lakeland, Florida’s Demarkcus Bowman. A consensus 5-star Top-25 national recruit, Bowman is currently committed to play for Clemson next season.

During the 2019 offseason, there were articles and blurbs galore about how Travis Etienne struggles and lacks confidence catching the football. Analysts have been pumping this as a flaw in his game ever since he exploded onto the scene as a freshman, and there is little doubt that he has indeed dealt with his struggles as a receiver. Heck, he even admitted it himself last summer!
