Is your season coming to an end? Are you looking forward to what your 2020 picks could turn into? Me too, which lead me to look at some of the ideal landing spots for this excellent rookie class. Now, this isn’t just the best landing spots and choosing all the great offenses. No, this is the best potential landing spots that are also REALISTIC based on how the NFL draft could end up. So take a look at what your picks could turn into!

Running Back:

 

Jonathan Taylor – Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins have a ton of needs and a playmaker on the offensive side of the ball is near the top. Taylor is the type of player that has proven to have the ability to do it on all levels. The Dolphins will need a player that can create for himself and make defenders miss while they rebuild this offense, specifically the offensive line. 

 

D’Andre Swift – Kansas City Chiefs

It is safe to say that if the Chiefs draft a RB, that player will shoot up draft boards to potentially the RB1. Swift has the explosiveness to make huge plays at any moment, with excellent vision and elite quickness and agility. If he is paired with Mahomes, he will have plenty of opportunities to make plays and could help open up the passing game even more. 

 

Travis Etienne – Los Angeles Chargers

With Ekeler’s ability in the passing game, adding Etienne would create a dynamic one-two punch in the backfield. Etienne is as explosive as any player I can remember and can break off homerun plays with just a sliver of light. The Chargers already have excellent weapons to throw to, and Etienne could help complete this offense in the case that Melvin Gordon leaves the team. 

 

JK Dobbins – Houston Texans

The only missing piece from this Texans’ offense is a legitimately dynamic running back, something JK Dobbins would fill immediately. Dobbins has an excellent build for an RB with tremendous agility and explosiveness making him one of the more complete runners in the draft. Dobbins would bring a dynamic run game to an offense that is loaded with passing weapons. 

 

Cam Akers – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs have struggled at the RB position for a few years so I fully expect them to target an RB early. Akers is one of the best athletes in the draft and is dynamic at every level. He has excellent balance and is very explosive. With his pass-catching ability and athleticism, he is a player that can be lined up all over the field which is something Arians would love to add to his offense. 

 

Eno Benjamin – Baltimore Ravens

I don’t think the Ravens have a “need” at RB, but they are a team I could see adding more talent to their backfield. Eno has a ton of spring to his running style and will hit defenders with an array of moves to make them miss. He does a great job in the passing game which will help complement their workhorse, Mark Ingram. 

 

Kylin Hill – Atlanta Falcons

Kylin Hill has flown under the radar despite his extremely productive season. Hill has an excellent build and a physical running style but still has tremendous athleticism. He also does a great job working in the passing game giving him the ability to be a true workhorse type back. Adding Hill to the Falcons’ explosive offense will help balance them out and make them very dangerous. 

 

Wide Receiver:

 

Jerry Jeudy – New York Giants

Jerry Jeudy is widely heralded as the best WR in this class, and rightfully so. Jeudy is perhaps the best route runner in the country, explosive, and very sure-handed. With a young QB and other dynamic weapons on the Giants offense, Jeudy is the type of player that can take their offense to the next level. 

 

Ceedee Lamb – Oakland Raiders

After letting AB go, the Raiders are again in search of a #1 WR and Ceedee Lamb will certainly fill that bill. Lamb is an excellent route runner, great hands, and a fantastic playmaker with the ball in his hands. Lamb is the type of receiver that would be an instant go-to receiver for Carr from day one. 

 

Henry Ruggs – Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers already has his go-to “big” type of WR in Davante Adams, now he needs the guy that can bust the top off the defense. Ruggs is one of the fastest, if not the fastest, players in the country. He does an excellent job of beating coverage for huge plays downfield. He will immediately open up the field for the Packers’ offense and make the huge plays the Packers need. 

 

Laviska Shenault – New Orleans Saints

The Saints have been searching for a wideout to complement Michael Thomas so grabbing one of the top WRs in the draft should be no surprise. Shenault is a playmaker through and through with his ability to line up all over the field. He has good speed, quickness, and strength to beat DBs in several ways. Sean Payton will love the flexibility Shenault will bring to his offense and could be a playmaker immediately. 

 

Tee Higgins – Buffalo Bills

The Bills have done a great job building their defense and now need the big-time playmaker for their young QB. Tee Higgins is a big, tall, and physical WR with excellent hands that can make plays all over the field. The Bills need a “big” WR that can win on jump balls, something that Higgins excels in. 

 

Devonta Smith – New York Jets

The Jets have a ton of great route runners that can work the short to intermediate routes. Adding Smith will give them an explosive player that can win over the top of defenses. Smith has elite hands and speed while also doing a great job beating defenders early in his routes. He will help add some dynamic playmaking to the Jets’ offense. 

 

Tyler Johnson – Miami Dolphins

As mentioned, the Dolphins need help. Regardless of who is their QB, they will need a guy that can win early and often in his routes. Enter, Tyler Johnson. Johnson is an elite route runner that can beat press coverage and uses his route running to get open more so than speed. He has excellent hands and can be a sure-handed, go-to WR for this Dolphins’ offense. 

 

Bryan Edwards – Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have a TON of speed on offense, which may be an understatement. Adding a guy like Edwards will give the Ravens a big-bodied wideout with excellent hands who also does a great job winning early in his routes. Edwards’ ability to win on jump balls will give Jackson yet another option to throw the ball up to, especially in the red zone. 

 

Tylan Wallace – Chicago Bears

The Bears offense has some solid receiving options but needs a receiver to complement Allen Robinson. Wallace is an explosive wideout with excellent ball tracking ability and is dynamic with the ball in his hands. Wallace will prove to be a reliable and dynamic weapon for an offense that wants to be more creative. 

 

Jalen Reagor – New England Patriots

The Pats have added big bodied WRs and the elite route runners to their offense, now it is time to add the burner. Make no mistake, Reagor is a good route runner that can win early, but he can be the player that takes the top off the defense and opens things up for other playmakers on the Pats offense. 

 

Quarterback:

Tua Tagovailoa – Cincinnati Bengals

Assuming Tua’s health comes back clean, he will still be one of the top players off the draft board. Tua’s ability to diagnose the defense presnap and get the ball out quickly will help rejuvenate this Bengals’ offense that is loaded with playmakers. 

 

Joe Burrow – Los Angeles Chargers

Burrow has flown up the draft boards and will be in a battle with Tua to be the top QB off the board, but he may end up sitting a year behind a vet like Rivers. If this happens, he can learn behind one of the better QBs and eventually take over an offense that has a ton of dynamic pass catchers. 

 

Justin Herbert – Denver Broncos

The search for a QB continues for the Broncos, Herbert may be the guy they have been looking for. Herbert looks the part in terms of his size and has a live arm. He can make any throw in the book and has the legs to extend plays if needed. As the Broncos continue to add playmakers to their offense, Herbert would be an excellent choice to lead them. 

 

Jordan Love – Miami Dolphins

Jordan Love may not be making the splash many predicted, but he is still a very talented QB with a ton of upside. His accuracy and timing are at an elite level and his ability to make plays on the run will be a huge benefit to a rebuilding Dolphins team.

 

Jake Fromm – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It is clear Winston is not the answer in Tampa and Fromm could be the guy Arians is looking for. Many will knock Fromm, but he is an extremely intelligent QB that knows where and when to go with the football. He plays within the offense and won’t try to do too much. All traits that Arians will love and could help jump-start this offense.
